DWV couplings are used to join two pieces of pipe in a DWV system. These couplings come in standard sizes but also have the options of reducing sizes in case the piping system calls for a reduction in the line.

DWV couplings are PVC plumbing fittings used to connect two sections of piping together. DWV couplings are specifically made for use in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems. They are used in residential, commercial, and industrial sanitary systems to establish a secure, leak proof connection between sections of DWV piping that carry wastewater away from fixtures and process equipment or that vent sewer gasses and exhaust fumes out of the building. PVC DWV couplings have hub x hub connections to slide over the outside of two pipe ends for permanent installation with PVC primer and solvent cement. They are used to complete installations and allow for repairs, extensions, or alterations to existing DWV networks.

DWV coupling types include standard couplings, reducing couplings, and repair couplings. Standard DWV couplings are used to connect pipes of the same diameter. DWV reducer couplings are used to connect pipes of different diameters and transition between sizes. DWV repair couplings are used to repair breaks or damages in a DWV system so pipelines can be fixed without large scale dismantling. DWV repair couplers do not have a middle stop that allows the fitting to slide along the pipe for more flexible placement over damaged areas.

Features and Benefits

Our DWV couplings are a cost effective, durable, and easy-to-install solution for completing or repairing onsite DWV systems. Their proper installation and use can ensure effective, secure, and leakproof operations in drain, waste, and vent applications.

  • PVC Material: Made from industrial grade PVC plastic that provides corrosion resistance, chemical durability, low weight, long term service, low cost, and minimal maintenance.
  • Hard Working: Engineered to withstand the harsh working conditions and media common to DWV systems.
  • Uninhibited Flow: Smooth interior walls minimize friction to maintain flow conditions.
  • Comprehensive Selection: Full range of types and sizes to ensure project compatibility.
  • Sizes: Available in standard sizes from 1-1/2ʺ to 8ʺ, reducing sizes from 2ʺ x 1-1/2ʺ to 8ʺ x 6ʺ, and repair coupling sizes from 1-1/2ʺ to 4ʺ in diameter.
  • Connections: DWV couplings come in slip type hub by hub connections.

Quality and Safety Standards

Our PVC DWV couplings are USA made by some of the industry’s most trusted manufacturers. DWV couplings are manufactured from high quality, ASTM D1784 Cell Class 12454 PVC material and meet standard ASTM D2665 for reliable durability and performance. These couplings have been manufactured, tested, and rated to comply with the Uniform Plumbing Code to meet health and safety regulations for use in structural sanitary and ventilation systems.

The PVC material used in DWV fittings is a resilient thermoplastic with resistance to environmental corrosion and rust. Drain, waste, vent PVC has excellent resistance against chemical acids, caustics, oils, and inorganic solutions, vapors, and fumes. DWV coupling fittings are rated for temperatures up to 140°F (60°C) and have a minimum temperature of 32°F (0°C) for water-based pipe networks. Always verify chemical compatibility prior to use.

Applications and Uses

Drain, waste, and vent couplings are used in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to install and repair sanitary sewers, wastewater lines, process drain lines, and ventilation systems. They are used in pipelines that handle effluent streams, such as black water, gray water, workflow waste, byproducts, and leftover material from fixtures, drains, and equipment. DWV fittings are not for pressurized applications.

Our DWV couplings are a leading choice in quality and performance. They are precision built for the hardworking demands of drain, waste, and vent plumbing systems and comply with local building codes for DWV installations. By adhering to the highest standards and using premium materials, our products are engineered to meet and exceed expectations. For more information or details on contractor pricing, contact us.
