DWV Wyes
Bidding a job & need contractor pricing?
We've got you covered!

DWV wyes are pipe fittings made to create angled branches in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems. With a Y-shaped design, these fittings seamlessly integrate two or more sections of piping into a main line. DWV wyes are used to combine or divert the flow within DWV pipe networks, facilitating efficient drainage, waste conveyance, and the venting of air, gasses, and fumes. The Y-shaped configuration of DWV wyes provides a smooth angled connection for a gradual transition that minimizes flow resistance to prevent blockages or backflows and ensure optimal flow dynamics. They are primarily used to connect a branch line into a horizontal drain or vent line. This enables the plumbing system to divert or merge flows efficiently while maintaining the integrity of the waste handling or ventilation pathway.
DWV wyes are common installation fittings used to manage waste products from residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and applications. Their unique design helps system designers and installers meet structural and flow requirements and overcome spatial challenges or restrictions due to property layout or equipment positioning. DWV wye fittings are available in a full catalog of sizes and types including standard wyes, reducing wyes, double wyes, and combination wyes with additional bends. The range of options is designed to meet the various installation requirements of different drain, waste, vent plumbing systems in pipe sizes, connection options, and configuration.
DWV Wye Sizes and Options
DWV wyes are available in a wide range of sizes and configurations to ensure optimal system performance, prevent leaks, and maintain proper operation.
- Standard DWV Wyes: Sizes range from 1-1/2” to 8” in diameter with all hub connections. Suitable for most branch connections. Provides a smooth transition at a 45 degree angle.
- DWV Reducing Wyes: Sizes range from 1-1/2” to 8” in diameter depending on the fitting type. Reducing wyes are available for all fitting types and have hub x spigot or all hub connections. Used to connect different sized pipes for seamless flow despite diameter changes.
- DWV Double Wyes: Sizes range from 1-1/2" to 6" in diameter. DWV reducing double wyes come in sizes from 3" x 1 1/2" to 6" x 4". Fittings have all hub connections.
- DWV Combination Wyes: Sizes range from 1-1/2” to 8” in diameter with 1/8 bend and all hub connections. Combination wye fittings come in either one piece (1 Pc) or two pieces (2 Pc) to match installation needs.
- DWV Double Combination Wyes: Sizes range from 3” to 4” in diameter with 1/8 bend and all hub connections.

Quality and Safety Standards
DWV wye fittings are USA made from ASTM D1784 Cell Class 12454 PVC material. DWV wyes meet ASTM D2665, ASTM D3311, and NSF 14 standards for DWV plumbing systems. They are engineered, tested, and certified to comply with local building and plumbing codes to meet the strict regulations and requirements for health and safety in drain, waste, and vent applications. These high standards ensure DWV wye fittings maintain quality, reliability, and durability during installation and service use.
The PVC used to manufacture DWV fittings is a robust thermoplastic known for its strength, long service life, and corrosion resistance. DWV wye fittings are durable against environmental conditions, temperature changes, and underground soil chemistry. They are resistant to sewage, sewer gasses, and a wide range of chemicals, materials, and solutions. PVC DWV wyes are non flammable, have excellent electrical insulation, low thermal absorption, and smooth interior walls that resist scaling and buildup. They have a maximum temperature range up to 140°F (60°C) and a minimum temperature of 32°F (0°C) when used in water-based applications.
Applications and Uses
DWV wyes are integral components used in the drain and vent systems of residential homes and commercial properties to direct the flow of waste liquids and solids from structural fixtures such as toilets, sinks, showers, and appliances toward city sewers or septic systems. In industrial applications, DWV wye fittings are used to handle waste materials containing chemicals, by-products, or corrosive fluids. In venting applications, DWV wyes are used to safely direct gasses, fumes, vapors, and exhausts generated by on-site fixtures, operations, or from sewer systems.
Our DWV wyes are a leading choice in exceptional quality and professional performance. They comply with all industry standards and are Uniform Plumbing Code certified for DWV systems. Precision engineered to meet the demanding requirements of drain, waste, and vent plumbing systems, our products are designed to not just meet but exceed expectations.
