PVC Duct Actuated Butterfly Dampers
Bidding a job & need contractor pricing?
We've got you covered!

PVC duct actuated butterfly dampers are ducting system components made to adjust the flow rate of air or gaseous media through PVC ductwork. These dampers are made for use with an actuator, either manual or motorized, to allow automatic opening and closing of the damper to meet system needs. Actuator motors can be provided with the damper on request. Actuated duct dampers provide operators the ability to fine tune ventilation performance and manage air distribution between different areas of a building or specific worksite processes. They are primarily used to control the flow of air or gasses through ductwork in ventilation, heating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and in various industry applications that require precision air regulation. PVC duct actuated butterfly dampers feature a rotatable disc with a 90° axis of rotation for a seamless transition and full range of flow control between open and closed. In motorized versions, the damper disc angle can be automated and controlled remotely. PVC duct actuated butterfly dampers provide effective airflow management, help maintain desired environmental conditions, improve energy efficiency, and protect equipment by preventing backflow. They can also contribute to onsite safety by controlling the release or spread of harmful gasses in emergency situations.
Actuated butterfly dampers are made from lightweight and corrosion resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, making the fittings suitable for hardworking ventilation systems that handle chemical vapors, fumes, exhausts, or moisture. The dampers feature a stainless steel locking quadrant for permanent position set, have all plastic internal parts, and offer an approximate 95% seal with a less than 5% air-flow restriction. They can be installed either vertically or horizontally within PVC duct pipelines.
These are USA made PVC duct actuated butterfly dampers built by Harrison Machine and Plastic under the trade name SUPERDUCT®, one of the nation’s top manufacturers and brands of thermoplastic ductwork. SUPERDUCT® actuated dampers are to be used with air and compatible gaseous media in open air, non-pressurized applications only. They are not for use in pressure systems, with liquids, or with known incompatible chemicals. Always verify chemical compatibility prior to use.
PVC Duct Actuated Butterfly Damper Sizes and Options
PVC duct actuated butterfly damper sizes range from 2" to 24" in Iron Pipe Size (IPS) diameter. Large actuated duct dampers are available on request in a range of sizes up to 60" in diameter. The dampers come with belled end socket (standard) or spigot connection options. For installation, a professional quality PVC primer and cement is recommended on duct fittings up to 14" in size. Hot air welding is recommended for duct fittings larger than 14" in size.
