Schedule 80 CPVC Bushings
Bidding a job & need contractor pricing?
We've got you covered!

Schedule 80 CPVC bushings, also known as reducer bushings, are versatile pipe fittings used to connect different sized pipes. Schedule 80 bushings are made to join CPVC pipes or fittings of different sizes by either reducing or increasing the diameter of the connecting end. This enables smooth transitions between various sections, branches, and connection lines in a plumbing system. Reducer bushings have one end that fits inside a larger pipe or fitting and one end with a smaller opening to accommodate a smaller sized part. Each end may have a different connection option for adapting to different plumbing types. CPVC pipe bushings are available in various sizes and three product options.
Schedule 80 CPVC bushings are made from Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC). CPVC is a synthetic thermoplastic with superior chemical compatibility and corrosion resistance that can withstand liquid temperatures up to 200°F (93°C). Compared to Schedule 40 fittings, Schedule 80 CPVC bushings have thicker sidewalls, which provide improved physical durability and chemical resistance. This makes them suitable for plumbing systems that require higher pressure handling capability and exposure to aggressive chemicals.
Sch 80 CPVC Bushing Sizes and Options
Sch 80 CPVC bushings are available in reducing sizes ranging from 3/8” x 1/4” up to 8” x 6” in diameter. CPVC Schedule 80 bushing adapters have either socket by spigot, spigot by female threaded (FPT), or female threaded by male threaded (MPT) ends. The combination ends allow bushings to work like reducing adapters for connecting different sized pipes with different connection types.
Spigot connections are recommended to be joined using CPVC primer and glue. A premium thread tape is recommended for a secure, leakproof fit when installing threaded connections.
Quality and Safety Standards
Our Schedule 80 CPVC reducer bushings are USA made and engineered by leading manufacturers. Our CPVC bushing fittings are precision crafted, tested, and certified to strict industry standards for product specifications, quality, performance, and reliability. Schedule 80 CPVC bushings meet ASTM D1784, ASTM F437, ASTM F439 standards for pipe and plumbing components. They are NSF certified and approved safe for potable water applications and freshwater systems.
Thermoplastic CPVC is naturally compatible and resistant to many chemicals, materials, and ingredients commonly used across industrial, manufacturing, and commercial applications. Chemical compatibility should always be verified before installing and using any plumbing lines for chemical conveyance systems.
Applications and Uses
Schedule 80 CPVC bushings are key components in many plumbing networks and conveyance systems when installers need to connect pipes or pipe fittings of different diameters and with different end types. Heavy duty CPVC bushings are specifically engineered for piping systems requiring higher fluid pressures, temperatures, and harsh chemicals, making them a reliable choice for many industrial, commercial, and residential projects. CPVC reducer bushings are widely used in various applications including water conveyance systems, chemical transportation, chemical feed lines, solvent and mixture handling, ingredient handling, and wastewater treatment systems.
