Diaphragm valves are flow control and pressure moderation plumbing valves. A diaphragm valve provides superior control for piping systems that demand precise flow regulation and pressure management. These valves are engineered for high purity and corrosive applications. They use a flexible, resistant diaphragm (EPDM, FPM, or PTFE) to isolate the flow media from the valve's mechanical parts. This design provides exceptional service life, low maintenance needs, and allows for fine tuned adjustments that is ideal for throttling, flow control, and pressure relief.

Available Diaphragm Valve Types

• Flow Control Valves (DAB Series): Feature a sure-grip handwheel and a high visibility position beacon indicator for precision diaphragm adjustment and flow modulation.
• Back Pressure Valves (PBV Series): Automatically maintain a set upstream pressure for better system performance and consistency.
• Pressure Relief Valves (RPV Series): Protect systems from over pressurization by automatically opening when internal pressures exceed a set level.

This pipe valve type is fitted with an internal diaphragm made from resistant thermoplastic material: EPDM, FPM or PTFE. The innovative and adjustable design of diaphragm valves allows their internal diaphragm to be set for handling different levels of flow or pressure. This in turn allows these valves to offer detailed control of system operation by restricting or maximizing plumbing flow rates and relieving system buildup pressure. Pressure relief type diaphragm valves are made to control system pressure maximums. When internal plumbing pressures reach the valve’s set level, valve operation is triggered to relieve excess system pressure.

Our diaphragm valves are USA manufactured by Hayward Industries. Hayward diaphragm valves are offered in DAB series flow control, PBV back pressure and RPV pressure relief series models. Individual valve performance specifications vary by the series type. Valve sizes range from 1/4” to 6” in diameter. True Union type diaphragm valves come with double EPDM o-rings. DAB flow control models have sure grip handwheels and high visibility, beacon indicators for precise diaphragm positioning. Pressure control models come with screw adjusting diaphragm spring set standard at 50 PSI with an operation range between 10 to 150 PSI. Valve bodies are made from either PVC or CPVC with PVDF or PP options available. Valves meet ASTM D1784 design standards and are ANSI / NSF 61 and 372 certified for use with drinking water.
