DWV Caps
Bidding a job & need contractor pricing?
We've got you covered!

DWV caps are end-and-seal fittings used in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) plumbing systems primarily as test caps during construction and start-up. The caps have a slip on socket connection and work by fitting snugly over the end of a pipe or fitting to create a watertight and airtight seal to prevent the release of liquids, gasses, and odors. During construction or maintenance, DWV end caps can temporarily cap pipelines to allow for testing, repairs, or making modifications and protect against the entry of debris or airborne pollutants without compromising functionality or safety. They are made for gravity fed systems and are not designed to handle pressure or pressurized applications.
Features and Benefits
- PVC Material: Made from premium PVC material for corrosion resistance, chemical stability, low weight, long term durability, low cost, and low maintenance requirements.
- Hard Working: Standardized PVC provides the ability to withstand the harsh conditions of DWV systems without degrading.
- Sizes: Available in sizes from 1-1/2” to 4” in diameter to meet DWV sizing requirements and project needs.
- Connections: DWV adapters come with a slip socket connection for temporary placement or permanent installation with primer and cement.
Quality and Safety Standards
Our DWV caps are made in the USA using high quality materials and modern manufacturing methods to meet top industry standards for reliability and durability. They are made from ASTM D1784 Cell Class 12454 PVC material and engineered to meet ASTM D2665 standard requirements for drain, waste, vent applications.
PVC DWV caps are durable DWV fittings with resistance to environmental corrosion, rust, and many commonly used chemicals such as acids, alkalis, oils, inorganic solutions and vapors. The fittings are non flammable, have good electrical insulation, and low thermal absorption. DWV caps are rated for temperatures up to 140°F (60°C) and have a minimum temperature of 32°F (0°C) for water-based pipe networks.
Applications and Uses
PVC DWV caps are used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications as a part of testing of DWV systems in structural and equipment handling of wastes generated onsite. They are commonly used to seal the open ends of DWV pipes to prevent leaks or intrusion of foreign debris that could cause damage or blockages. The caps can be used during flow testing of plumbing systems and septic tanks to block open pipes to conduct a watertightness test and inspection. The caps are used as temporary closures to provide a secure seal until the work is completed. They are used to cap off parts of vent lines to ensure proper venting while also keeping out debris. In drainage systems, PVC DWV caps are sometimes installed at cleanout locations for easy access to pipes for cleaning or inspection.
Our DWV caps are a leading choice in quality and performance. They meet the industry standards and plumbing codes for DWV systems and are precision engineered to meet the hard working demands of drain, waste, and vent applications. By adhering to high standards and premium materials, our products are built to meet and exceed expectations.
