PVC duct rainskirts are specialized ductwork fittings designed for weather protection with PVC pipe duct and ventilation systems. Rainskirts are made to fit around the base of ductwork piping that protrude through the roofs or sides of buildings to provide a waterproof seal and prevent the ingress of water. They are used to protect the junction where duct lines exit a building from water damage by ensuring rainwater or snow cannot enter the internal structure through any gaps between the ductwork and the roof or the wall. The fittings are designed with an outward slope and encircle the base of a duct pipe to rest flush with the building’s exterior. This acts as a physical barrier directing water away from a potential penetration point. PVC duct rainskirts are used to maintain the durability and integrity of both the duct system and the building structure. By preventing water infiltration, these components work to avoid the potential for water damage, mold growth, and weakening of building materials.

Our PVC duct rainskirt fittings are USA made by Harrison Machine and Plastic under the trade name Harrison SUPERDUCT®, one of the nation’s top manufacturers and brands of thermoplastic ductwork. PVC rainskirts and ductwork fittings are to be used with air and compatible gaseous media in open air, non-pressurized applications only. They are not for use in pressure systems, with liquids, or with known incompatible chemicals. Always verify chemical compatibility prior to use.

PVC Duct Rainskirt Sizes and Options

PVC duct rainskirt sizes range from 2″ to 24″ in Iron Pipe Size (IPS) diameter. Large duct rainskirts up to 60″ in diameter are available on request. PVC duct rainskirts are designed to fit snugly around duct piping and sit flush at the transition point between interior and exterior. Rainskirts up to 14″ in size are often installed using PVC primer and cement. For rainskirt fittings above 14″, hot air welding is recommended.

Technical Specifications

PVC duct rainskirts are made from professional grade PVC resin that meets ASTM D1784 standards. These qualifications certify our rainskirts are among the top in quality, precision, and reliability for long lasting service.

Applications and Uses

Common applications and uses for PVC duct rainskirts include in commercial and residential HVAC systems to protect rooftop and sidewall duct reliefs from water intrusion, in industrial and manufacturing facilities to ensure ductwork related to ventilation, exhaust, and air intake systems remain dry and operational, and in institutional buildings such as hospitals and schools where indoor air quality must be maintained and water infiltration through ductwork prevented. They are often used along with PVC duct rain caps.

Harrison PVC SUPERDUCT® rainskirts are a leading choice in quality and performance. They are precision engineered to deliver the reliable, long lasting protection that vent stacks and exhaust lines require. Manufactured to the highest standards from premium materials, our ductwork pipe supplies are made to exceed requirements. For more information or details on contractor pricing, contact us.
