PVC duct exhaust hoods are ventilation components used to capture and expel fumes, dust, vapors, and other contaminants from a certain area. Duct exhaust hoods are primarily used to vent fumes away from workspaces found in laboratories, industrial environments, and anywhere hazardous or unpleasant gasses, vapors, odors, or particulates are present. PVC duct exhaust hoods work together with a ventilation fan to draw air through the hood and into a duct system where the contaminated air can then be transported to a point of release or treatment. PVC duct exhaust hoods are commonly used in industrial HVAC systems, restaurant kitchens, commercial garages, manufacturing and chemical processing applications, and in laboratory experiment hoods to manage the fumes of PVC compatible chemicals. They are lightweight, mechanically durable, and resistant to several forms of corrosion.

These are USA made PVC duct exhaust hoods built by Harrison Machine and Plastic under the trade name SUPERDUCT®, one of the nation’s top manufacturers and brands of thermoplastic ductwork. SUPERDUCT® exhaust hoods are to be used with air and compatible gaseous media in open air, non-pressurized applications only. They are not for use in pressure systems, with liquids, or with known incompatible chemicals. Always verify chemical compatibility prior to use.

PVC Duct Exhaust Hood Sizes and Options

PVC duct exhaust hood sizes range from 18″ up to 72″ in Iron Pipe Size (IPS) diameter. The fittings come with socket end connection types. For installation, hot air welding is recommended as these duct fittings are larger than 14″ in size.

Applications and Uses

Common applications of PVC duct exhaust hoods include use in laboratories, chemical processing plants, hospitals, universities, and workspace locations where control of hazardous or noxious fumes is required to protect workers from exposure to harmful substances and to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The components are used in fume hoods, chemical storage areas, research labs, auto repair and detail shops, woodworking facilities, and in various industrial, manufacturing, and commercial painting, detailing, and product finishing applications. They are often paired with blastgates or butterfly dampers. PVC duct exhaust hoods are used in work applications, experiments, and production lines to maintain a clean, safe working environment when vaporized solvents, hazardous reactant gasses, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), potentially toxic, flammable, or explosive fumes, heavy dust, and particulates are present.

Harrison PVC SUPERDUCT® exhaust hoods are a leading choice in quality and performance, trusted by professionals for decades.
