Model 52 Eaton® strainers are heavy duty duplex strainers with extra large basket chambers, filtration screens and specialized engineering to handle high flow rates. Model 52 Eaton® strainers are professional quality double basket strainers manufactured for high throughput, continuous flow applications. The Model 52 is ideal for work use where low pressure drop is important and high fluid flow rate is experienced. As a duplex strainer, Eaton’s® Model 52 is intended for use in filtration scenarios that cannot be shut down for system line maintenance. The Model 52 is designed with a set of easy operation butterfly valves that reduce the effort required to switch flow between strainer baskets when necessary for cleaning. Similar to Eaton's® other models, Model 52 strainers feature quick open covers for filter screen access, and no tools are required to switch strainer flow or to open strainer chambers.

Model 52 Eaton® strainers come in cast iron body material only with bronze casing available on request. The Model 52 comes as a flanged unit in size options 10", 12", 14", 16" and 18" in working plumbing diameter. The working pressure of the unit is 200 PSI (13.8 BAR) at 100°F (38°C) for 10" and 12" strainers and 150 PSI (10.3 BAR) at 100°F (38°C) for 14", 16" and 18" strainers. Gasket O-ring seals are Buna-N type standard. Strainer filter baskets come standard in stainless steel with choice of either perforated or mesh style screens. Perforated screen sizes range from 1/32" up to 1/2" and mesh screens are available in 20 mesh, 40 mesh and 60 mesh sizes.

When selecting basket screen style or sizes, a general rule of thumb is to select a strainer size slightly smaller than the smallest particle anticipated within the system to capture. Increasing size values of perforation style baskets indicates a greater flow area that is better suited to catching larger particles. Increasing values on mesh style baskets indicates more wire per inch and therefore a smaller pore width that is better suited for catching smaller, more fine particles. Eaton® offers many materials and customization options for their high quality strainers. To request different materials or components for a Model 52 Eaton® strainer, contact us.
