Class 125 Couplings
Bidding a job & need contractor pricing?
We've got you covered!

Class 125 couplings are used to connect two lengths of plain end PVC pipe. They are a subclass of Schedule 40 PVC fittings and a cost effective option intended for large diameter liquid systems with lower fluid pressure that do not require inspections or certified plumbing fittings. The Class 125 designation refers to their maximum working pressure of 125 PSI. Class 125 PVC couplings are designed to slip over the ends of two PVC pipes and are essential to complete the design and installation of a fluid plumbing system. They are to be secured using solvent weld installation to create a strong, leak proof connection between the pipes. Class 125 couplers differ from standard Schedule 40 in their approved maximum pressure rating and purchase cost. They are manufactured to Sch 40 dimensions but do not undergo the same pressure test before distribution. Overall, Class 125 couplings should provide the same performance as Schedule 40 fittings, although this cannot be guaranteed as post-production testing has not been performed.
**Notice** Class 125 couplings are not suitable for pressurized liquid applications to exceed 125 PSI or use in systems that require certified Schedule 40 PVC as per building or plumbing codes. They are not intended for use in pressurized air applications.
Class 125 Coupling Sizes and Options
Class 125 coupling sizes include 10ʺ and 12ʺ in diameter. They are made to Schedule 40 standard thickness and dimensions. Class 125 reducer couplings are available in 6ʺ, 8ʺ, and 10ʺ sizes. The couplers come with plain end sockets for slip on connection and solvent weld installation with PVC primer and cement.
Technical Specifications
Class 125 couplers are USA made by Westlake Pipe & Fittings® (LASCO®), a top trusted American pipework manufacturer. The couplings are made from heavy duty, high grade, ASTM D1784 PVC thermoplastic material. Class 125 couplings are rated for temperatures up to 140°F and pressures up to 125 PSI. Class 125 fittings are compatible with other Schedule 40 PVC components. The couplers are made in an NSF certified facility using high quality PVC material free of harmful chemicals or additives.

Applications and Uses
Class 125 couplings are engineered for large diameter plumbing systems operating under low to medium pressure conditions and handling high fluid volumes. The couplings can be used as a cost effective alternative in Schedule 40 PVC piping applications and where plumbing and building codes permit. Class 125 couplings are versatile and utilized in residential, commercial, agriculture, and industrial systems. They are commonly used to complete plumbing installations for systems that distribute potable or nonpotable water, manage wastewater and drainage, and transporting fluids used by onsite activities. Common uses for Class 125 PVC couplings include agricultural projects, large scale irrigation systems, chemical processing, and handling wastewater in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, and commercial buildings.
